Happy Anniversary!

There is a lot going on this week in my family. My husband and my anniversary of moving in together is today. We moved in together 5 years ago, we've been married for 2.5 years, and we have an almost 1-year-old daughter. It turned out to be such a simple card but today was a significant turning point in my life when my husband asked me to move in, after deciding to leave my ex. The sticker flowers on the front are not Stampin' Up! stickers. I needed something to make the card more lively. Nothing seemed to work but these were exactly what it needed.

Happy Monday!

    I am running late, the Baby is very demanding. This week we are starting with inspiration from someone I know. I am using the Hand-Penned Petals set. The base is pale papaya cardstock 11.5 x 4.25 scored at 5.5. The next layer is blushing bride and then very vanilla. The smaller layers are blushing bride and very vanilla. I stamped the inside of the flowers, you can use them to fill in the outline stamps in the set. This card is so simple and you can change it so easily to make the card your own or just change it up. I really liked how this card came out. The center flower I stamped off the inside and the sides are full strength. I colored the gems in dark pale papaya.

Awesome Otters!

Today I am using a set I have never used before. This set I got from the last Sale-A-Bration. These little guys are so cute. The Ring of Love DSP is from this year's Sale-A-Bration. See Sale-A-Bration is fun you get some really cute and fun things that maybe you wouldn't think to get or decided maybe not now. I didn't use the blends to color him in but I think he came out really cute. So simple but fun to do.

Wild Wednesday!

     I am a bit late today but Happy Wednesday! We are making a simple happy "Thinking of you" card. I used the Wild and Sweet stamp set. It comes with a sweet panda, koala, and a raccoon. I was not sure what to create, I decided to use this set and thought the panda was just so cute. When I was looking at the stamp it seemed to perfectly match the "Thinking of You" stamp from the Go to Greetings set. Just stamping it didn't seem fun enough so I added a little color to the leaves and branches. 

    So simple but fun card. I try to make my cards so complex but they end up coming out so simple. Simple cards are always a fun way to start when you want to start learning a new craft or getting into a hobby.

Anniversary Friday!

     Saturday is my In-laws' 45th wedding anniversary! I wanted to make them a card. Their wedding color was pink so I used polished pink and blushing bride cardstock. The base is just very vanilla. I used the Days to Remember stamp set. When using this set to put together the calendar it is best to use the stamparatus. The DSP is the texture chic, I love this set it's so pretty and elegant. This card was very simple but I think my in-laws will like it. 

I have some things launching in the coming week that I will tell you about next week.

Shadow Wednesday!

For my project today I decided to make a shadow box. I used a lot of different elements from different sets. The birdhouse dies, leaves from artistically inked, and the hearts are from the sweetheart dies. The leaves on the birdcage are part of the willow tree dies just cut to be shorter. Everything is cut from basic white but the leaves on the birdcage are on parakeet party. I colored the row of hearts with fresh freesia and seaside spray. The little hearts are also fresh freesia, seaside spray, and polished pink. 

I didn't have a detailed plan to put the box together. I only had a general idea, this was a really fun project to put together. You can use anything to put a shadow box together. I used glue and dimensionals to put the pieces together on the insides.

Wonderful World Monday

    Happy Monday Crafters! This week we are doing a few different things this week. I am using the Wonderful World set with the matching DSP. I am also using the sentiments from the Go to Greetings set. I'm starting off the week with a simple birthday card. The base is the standard base, each layer is 1/8th of an inch shorter on each side. The basic white is 3 1/2  in x 4 1/4 in. Then the white layer is popped up on dimensionals. I always use a seal for the inside basic white layer because the glue you can see through the paper.

Just a Note!

This is a card that I made for a card chain. Really simple, used the die from the Willow Tree dies that took a couple tries to get it to work. I ended up putting the paper over the die and the die upside down with an extra piece of cardstock under the plates. It took an effort to turn the handle on the big shot. I really liked how it came out, I cut it on the Parakeet Party. You have to be really careful when placing it down because a couple of the spots are delicate and can rip easily. The "Just a note" is from the Go to Greetings stamp set. With the leaves feeling so busy I didn't want the card to look too cluttered by using DSP behind it. This card came out really basic but I thought the colors were great together. Next week I am going to try and make my cards a little more involved. Use different card base ideas and folds.

Willow Tree and Silhouette

    Today we are showing off the new In-Colors for this year and the Willow Tree set. I still haven't perfected the use of this set but I will definitely play around with it more. The dies that come with this set are really lovely. I didn't use the dies to cut out the tree because I liked how the tree lines up better when you stamp it together. I used two of the new In-Colors, Tahitian tide, and parakeet party. I used bermuda bay for the sky and pear pizzazz for the grass. Just simple basic card measurements. 

    This is another make & take card from an event I went to on Friday. I had to do it a little differently but I think it came out nice the way I did it. The inside doesn't have anything to it. Just a basic white with "hello" on the inside. The sentiments are from the Go To Greetings stamp set on both cards.

Trees for Sale

    This week we are starting with a make-and-take I did at an event. I substituted the stamp set that was used with the Trees for Sale. The asymmetry of the front of the card to the inside gives it a little something extra. On Wednesday I will make a similar card with a different stamp set and show you exactly how it's made. 

    The basic card base is always easy for me when I am having a hard time being creative. Using a little asymmetry brings out fun creativity. I am excited to make variety with this card as a guiding point. Come back this week for more ideas.

Fancy Friday Hedgehogs!

     Today's Fancy Friday card is a fun fold card. It's made with the Rings of Love DSP. I had a lot of fun making this card. The base is 5 1/2 x 12 scored at 2, 4, 8, and 10 inches. Then I folded the 4 and 8 inches in and the 2 and 10 inches folded out. I made a mark up from the bottom front folds up 2 inches. I cut on an angle from that mark to the fold. The inside pieces are Basic White and Blushing Bride. I always make the inside pieces 1/8 of an inch shorter on each end from each layer. (The front circles are also those colors) Blends: crumb cake, soft suede, polished pink, poppy parade, real red, highland heather, smokey slate, pale papaya, shaded spruce, old olive, and seaside spray.

Funky Happy Hedgehogs!

     It's Wednesday, so I decided to go a little funky. I decided to make a pentagon card. I didn't want to make a conventional card today. Instead of a fun fold card, I made a fun shade card. I was going to use a piece of DSP from the ring of love packet but it looked too busy. 

    The hedgehog came out so cute and I really like how the coloring on it came out. I used so many colors for the tree, mushroom, butterfly, bird, and the hedgehog. 

    Even though it didn't measure out the way I wanted it to, I really like that the card isn't perfectly symmetrical. You of course can make it perfect, and I did try but it didn't turn out that way. 

This is the stamp set and punch that goes with it. The set is the clear photopolymer which I do like better sometimes. It's easier to make the images straight.
