Birthdays Galore

I don't have any cards to post this morning but keeping to the Kits theme this week this kit is available starting on Tuesday, October 4th. If you are someone who doesn't remember birthdays or just has so many birthdays you want to be prepared for the year, this is the kit for you! It has a folder for every month and cards to make. You can also make your own cards and just prepare them for the year. You can have the whole year set up and ready to go, plus you can write the birthdays corresponding with each month next to the folders.

I really love kits. With recent things going on and not having the time I want to work on all my cards and businesses, these kits make it easier to get things done. The best part about the kits is that even though there are instructions, you can make them your own. When I am having a hard time coming up with ideas for my greeting cards and I get inspiration from other cards I can never copy the card.

I just love the kits, they are so helpful. This kit would also help you get really organized for the year too. There are so many kits that you can get.

Holiday Season's Approaching

Today I am showing off another kit you can get from Stampin Up!. This set has the same card base and embellishments with a different set of sentiments. Even though there isn't a huge variety of things for the cards you can make so many different options. I'm sorry the sentiments are a little hard to read but the font is really pretty and stamps really nicely. I really like these cards. I like that the envelopes have a little picture on the corners and you can make the cards horizontal and move the sentiment to different parts of the cards. With a little creativity, you can have so many options with this set.

Today is the last day for the weekly deals and these are the last deals of September.

World Card Making Day is on Saturday October 1st.

On October 4th there is going to be a new Starter Kit Promotion that I will Inform you about.

Kits and Fun Folds

Today we are starting the week showing off the Kits you can get from Stampin' Up!. With the kits, you get everything you need to make the cards. Embellishments, dimensionals, glue dots, backgrounds, stamps, a block, ink, everything you would need come in the box. The box also comes with instructions on how to make the cards. You don't have to follow those instructions, I didn't, These are just some of the cards you can come up with with this kit. There are other kits that you can get with other themes. I will show off another kit this week to show an easy way to get into card making or learning a new hobby.

If you would like to learn more about the kits and what the benefits are or how to get them. These are helpful when you're not able to think of anything to make.

There are 3 more days left of the weekly deals for September.

The fun fold is finally done. After the other fun fold card from last week, my husband asked if it opened up so I made a card that opened up and opened like a book. I wanted to make the card look like a big tree lot. It is two separate "cards". I couldn't figure out how to make it with one piece of paper but I really like how it came out. There is a bit of fine-tuning to do but for the first go around I really like it.

Trees for Sale

It's the end of September and even though I'm not one to jump the seasons, I wouldn't start making my Christmas cards until probably Thanksgiving. I was hoping that I could make some of your Christmas cards this year by showing off some Christmas cards. I have retired Christmas sets that are really awesome and this tree set. This set has so many other elements, Friday I plan on showing a fun fold card that is more elaborate with more of the elements that come with this set.

I had thought of this card for my mom to make remembering that she wouldn't have been able to make it. I love this fun fold card base and revealing the tree lot was fun for me to do. It wasn't hard to do. even though it looks complicated. I really like the DSP with the wood and it would look nice with the trees.

Today is the last day for the weekly sales for this week. Tomorrow will start the LAST week of the deals with a whole new set.

If you also decide that you want to make your own Christmas cards or tags this year there are kits to help you do just that.

Water Coloring Card!

I made the watercolor stamps into a card. I thought the DSP was a good fit for the flowers. The inside flowers are stamped on the inside. Pale papaya is the base and blushing bride is the first layer. The DSP is retired. There are matching dies that go with the handed penned petals set but I decided to fussy cut out the flowers. I haven’t perfected the watercoloring but these two flowers came out the best.

There are 2 mores days for this weeks deals. Thursday starts the last week of deals.

Water coloring Attempt 2!

So I decided to use a different image and did some more water coloring. It isn't a perfect science but it takes so much practice. For this first one I used a thin brush and it came out not how I wanted it. There was too much water and it came out dark again and you can see the width of the brush. I used the refill bottles and put a couple drops on a stamp block.

In this second attempt, I used a thicker brush. There was too much water but the color was a better shade. The momento also bleeds a little bit because of all the water. I liked this coloring better.

In this attempt, I used the thicker brush again and I got the ink-to-water ratio to work better. This is the coloring that I was looking for in water coloring. For the blue flower, I colored in the center separately and colored the petals first. The water also didn't bleed through the cardstock and worked so much better.

For this last attempt, I used the big brush just to see what it looked like. The brush doesn't work with this image but I can see how it would be good for background on cards. It also came out a little darker than I would have liked so if I wanted to use it for a background I would have to get a better ratio of water to ink.

Tomorrow, September 15th 12:01am - 11:59pm MT, is an awesome day! There is a 24-hour
SALE on stamps from the Annual Catalog.

Water coloring attempt 1!

I didn't make a card last night but I made my first water coloring attempt. I was told that it wasn't a bad first attempt but I don't like it. It doesn't give off that water coloring look that I was looking for. This week I am going to keep trying to achieve the technique and look that I am looking for. It came out too dark and doesn't have the watery coloring that you would expect from water coloring. I think this looks more like a bad coloring job with markers. I am going to have to keep trying to get it to look the way I want it to.

These deals end Wednesday night before the start of the new set of deals on Thursday.

Invitation

My daughter is turning 1 the first week of October. We are having a little party at my building. I had the perfect stamp set to make the invitations. I made them just like a postcard instead of a card. The base is still the standard 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. The DSP is 4 x 5 1/4 and the Very Vanilla is 3 1/8 x 4 1/2.

The stamp set I used was So Inviting. It is not available in the new annual catalog. When I was writing out the invitation I wrote the RSVP wrong on EVERY single invitation that I made so I cut out a little piece of paper and glued it over the wrong word and wrote the right word. I of course colored out my address.

I was looking at my stamp sets and realized I could have stamped the dates but I like the handwriting more. Even when I messed it up.

The new weekly deals are up. 8th - 14th the items below are all on sale. Who doesn't love Deals?

Don't forget about Perfect Partners. These stamp sets have a new matching die set to go with them. If you already have the stamp set you can get the die set separately. If not you can get the bundle with the 10% discount of buying them together.
