Mystery Creation

On Monday I participated in a Mystery Card event. I was given general instructions and created this card with those general instructions. I used Purple Posie (which is no longer available), Fresh Freesia, and Basic White. The base measures 8 ½ x 5 ½ scored at 4 ¼ inches. The first layer measures 5 3/8 x 4 1/8 inches. I embossed the Basic White that measures 5 ¼ x 4 with the Painted Texture embossing folder. A DSP layer from the Hues of Happiness measures 5 ¼ x 1 ¾ inches. I just cut out rectangles in the same colors that are 4 1/8 x 2 7/8, 4 x 2 1/4, and then 3 7/8 x 2 1/8 inches. I used the Warm Welcome set so I die-cut out the door for the front and colored it in Highland Heather. I popped up the rectangle on the front and put a couple gem embellishments just to add a little to it and used one as the door knob. The inside is just 2 layers of Basic white measuring 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 inches and 4 x 5 1/4 inches. Everything was stamped in Momento.

Sweetest Citrus

For these cards, I used the Sweet Citrus bundle. It comes with an embossing folder, coordinating dies, and the stamp set. I really like this bundle because the dies that cut out the citrus fit into the embossing folder so you can emboss and cut out the fruit at the same time without stamping if you don't want to. I love this set because you can turn the citrus into lemons, limes, oranges and even grapefruit.

This card I used Daffodil Delight and Basic White cardstock. The DSP is the Dandy Design from the past Sale-A-Bration. I made the base is 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches scored at 4 1/4 inches used in landscape. First Daffodil Delight layer is 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 inches and the DSP layer is 4 x 5 1/4 inches. I used the Daffodil Delight to emboss and die cut out the citrus. The Daffodil Delight makes them look like lemons. I used the double oval punch for the sentiment. I stamped in Momento and Daffodil Delight.

Thanks A Bunch Week!

Happy Friday! To end the week I made a simple card. I used Basic White, Shimmery White, and a piece of the Day at the Farm DSP. I stamped in Pear Pizzazz, Garden Green, and Calypso Coral. The base of Basic White is 4 1/4 x 11 1/2 inches scored at 5 1/2 inches. The first layer of Basic White is 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 inches, and the DSP layer is 4 x 5 1/4 inches. I stamped the carrots on a piece of Shimmery White measuring 3 3/16 x 4 3/4 inches, and I popped it up on dimensionals. I tied a little red bow to make the front a little fun. The inside is a Basic White layer measuring 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 inches and a Shimmery White layer measuring 4 x 5 1/4 inches.

This card was really easy to put together and the inside was stamped in Garden Green, Pear Pizzazz, and Calypso Coral. Cards never have to be difficult, I could have added a few more stamps to the bottom and then leave the sentiment out. I looked on Pinterest for some ideas which is a great way to get inspiration. I really like how this card came out.

Happy Monday, Thanks A Bunch

Today we changed up the way we used the carrots in the Thanks A Bunch stamp set. I used the carrots as trees and then used the detail stamp as grass.

Cardstock: Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, and Basic White
Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Mossy Meadow, Daffodil Delight, Evening Evergreen, and Bermuda Bay

Base: Old Olive: 11 1/2  x 4 1/4 scored at 5 1/2 inches
First Layer: Daffodil Delight: 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 inches
Top Layer: 4 x 5 1/4 inches
Inside
First Layer: Daffodil Delight: 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 inches
Top Layer: Basic White: 4 x 5 1/4 inches

For the front, I stamped the "trees" in Pear Pizzazz and Mossy Meadow. Then I used the detail stamp to randomly stamp grass in the same colors. There were a couple other stamps I used for flowers in Daffodil Delight and then the little leaves are in Evening Evergreen. The top was looking a little empty so I used the blending brush to bring a little Bermuda Bay to the sky. I used my oval punch for the sentiment and popped it up on dimensionals. I also blended some Bermuda Bay on the bottom layer to break up the Basic White and stamped the sentiment in Evening Evergreen. For the bottom of the inside, I did the same thing as the front but used the smaller detail stamp and the leaves. Instead of stamping the leaves in green like the front I stamped them in Daffodil Delight so they looked like flowers. Sometimes you can take a stamp and use them for something completely different.

Thanks A Bunch Wednesday

Starting the March with the Thanks A Bunch carrots. I used Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, and Basic White cardstock with a Day at the Farm DSP piece. Old Olive is the base measuring 11 1/2 x 4 1/4  scored at 5 1/2 inches. The first layer is Daffodil Delight 5 3/8 x 4 1/8 inches and the DSP measures 5 1/4 x 4 inches. The Basic White measures 4 1/2 x 3 1/4 inches. I stamped the carrots in Calypso Coral stamped off and then I stamped the detail full strength. The greens on top of the carrots are Garden green. The sentiment is stamped in Momento. This piece is popped up on dimensionals. The inside layers are Daffodil Delight and Basic White measuring 5 3/8 x 4 1/8 inches and 5 1/4 x 4 inches respectively. Inside the little carrots are also stamped in Calypso Coral and Garden Green.

This card was fun and simple. You can make it more fun with ribbon or embellishments. If you have the square dies that make decorative edges you can use that on the front. Simple is always where my cards fall. Nothing super fancy but still fun. I really liked how the DSP looked with the colors of the cardstock and ink colors.
