Mother/Daughter Project

     

Day 1

    I wanted to work on a little inspiration and got a little inspired by one of my favorite movies. I am going to craft through my mom's PDFs of cards. I am not going to duplicate the cards but use them as a base. I'm going to use the sets if I have but change the colors and other elements. You'll be able to see the different ideas you can have with stamping. I want to show many ideas and how you can see something and make it your own. I started with Masculine Valentine's Day and made them my own. 

    

    I kept the Country Bouquet stamp set and 1 of the Designer Series Paper. I decided to go with a gradient pink-to-yellow metallic designer series paper with a sandpaper texture. I changed the technique on the portrait card. The hearts are clear embossed over blended Very Vanilla cardstock then I used the coordinating punch to punch them out. 

    

    For the second card, I kept most of the layout the same. I changed the colors, ribbon, and designer series paper, and reorganized the hearts. 

    Sometimes all you need is a little inspiration to make the crafting juices flow.

Measurements

Colored Base: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches scored at 1 3/4 inches and 6 inches

Same color as Base: 2 3/4 x 4 1/4 inches

A contrasting color cardstock: Inside piece: 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 inches

2 pieces: 5 3/8 x 2 3/8 inches

1 piece: 4 1/8 x 2 5/8 inches

2 pieces: 5 3/8 x 1 5/8 inches 

DSP: 1 pattern: 5 1/4 x 2 1/4 inches and 5 1/4 x 1/2 inches

A different pattern of DSP: 5 1/4 x 2 1/4 inches and 5 1/4 x 1 1/2 inches

 2 Basic White pieces: 5 1/4 x 4 inches and 4 x 2 1/2 inches 

• You're going to take the contrasting cardstock pieces and adhere them to the spots on the inside and front panels where they fit. 
• Then you are going to take 1 pattern of DSP and adhere them to the panels on the front and the other pattern to the panels on the inside. 
• The small pieces are going to be adhered together to adhere to either panel on the front, this will be the flap that opens the card. 
• You can stamp just an image on the front with or without a sentiment. I decided to emboss the stamps in silver. The inside was just stamped in Momento. 

 

Just Some Lemons!

 

 

These cards are a pack of 5 that I sold to a customer. They were specially made and sent out. I used the Sweet Citrus Bundle, Basic White, Old Olive, and Daffodil Delight cardstock, then Daffodil Delight, Mossy Meadow, Just Jade, Momento, Garden Green, and Highland Heather ink. The DSP is a piece from Country Gangham and Dandy Designs. The base of the cards is my standard measurements of 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches scored at 4 1/4 inches then used in portrait and landscape. The 1st layer is 5 3/8 x 4 1/8 inches and the 2nd layer is 5 1/4 x 4 inches. These measurements are also for the inside layers. I used the corresponding embossing folder and dies for the lemons. On 3 sets of them, I stamped the lemons first than lined them up in the embossing folder to cut them out. Then on the other 2, I cut them out of the embossing folder and then used the blending brushes to put color on the lemons. The leaves I just stamped a bunch and fussy cut them out. The circle that the lemons are glued onto is part of a die set that is not in the Stampin' Up! catalog. The circles are popped up on dimensionals and I used a couple embellishments of gems. 

Mystery Card Event 2

This is my second Mystery Card Event card. Every Monday I attend a live video event. I get all the measurements and watch the card being made. Then I choose my own colors, DSP, and Stamp set to make a version of the card. This one was really fun to make because it wasn't a standard card, it was a fun fold card. I used the Tropical Leaf set and Dandy Design DSP. Then just Basic White and Pool Party for Cardstock. 

• The main base colored cardstock- 8 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches scored at 5 1/2 inches  
• Same color 8 x 3 inches scored at 4 inches

• 2 pieces of Basic White measuring 3 3/4 x 2 3/4 and 2 1/2 x 1 1/2 inches
• 2 DSP pieces of the same pattern 5 1/4 x 4 and 4 x 2 3/4 inches
