Start off June with Summery Colors

Todays simple card is highlighting the Blessings of Home stamp set and its matching Flowers of Home dies. I used the old paper embossing folder which is not available but you can always substitute it for another embossing folder. The inside is shimmering white cardstock. I colored the flowers with light/dark poppy parade, light/dark shaded spruce, light/dark daffodil delight, light/dark pumpkin pie, light/dark highland heather, light/dark polished pink.

Standard Base: 5 1/2 x 8 scored at 4 1/4

1st layer of Old olive: 4 3/8 x 5 1/4 but when you use an embossing folder the size of the paper can shrink because of the creases that the folder makes in the paper.

This month is fun. This month starts the count down to the Sale-a-Bration at Stampin' Up!. You get great things for enjoying your craft! Contact me to find out more. More teasers are yet to come.

Thank you for enjoying my card and jumping off June with a fun simple set!

The Best Way to Start your Crafting Journey

With Father’s Day so close I decided to highlight the Paper Pumpkin Kits you can get through Stampin’ Up!. They are monthly kits that you get in the mail. They come with everything you need to make multiple cards. This is only one card you could make from this old kit. But it came with the stamp set, the card base, envelope, ink pad and dimensionals. When you don’t have any ideas these are fun to just make the ideas flow. Every month you get different things so you can make new things every month.

Happy Birthday Happy Hedgehogs

Today I decided to again keep things simple. I used the Happy Hedgehogs stamp set with the "Happy Birthday" stamp from the Pansy Patch stamp set. I like simple cards because they are quick and you don't have to worry about too much details. For me the simple cards are helping me get into a rhythm and be consistent.

I used standard base with 3 layers.

Calypso Coral base: 5 1/2 x 8 scored at 4 1/4

1st layer of Calypso Coral: 4 1/8 x 5 3/8

Hand Penned DSP: 4 x 5 1/4

Very Vanilla: 2 3/4 x 4 3/4

I alined the layer with just 4 pieces of ribbon the size of each side. I also used Light Pale Papaya, dark soft suede, light and dark crumb cake, light and dark poppy parade and light and dark real red.

Making these cards are fun and the little hedgehogs are so cute. You can join the fun too.

Coloring DSP on a Simple Card

This card is a super simple card. The only time consuming process of making the card is the coloring of the background. When I was coloring the background I didn't do anything to fussy. I used the darker color on the center of the flowers and the lines of the leaves. Then I used the brush end and colored the flowers and leaves in with the light color.

Standard base of Pool Party: 5 1/2 x 8 Scored at 4 1/4

1st layer of Pool Party: 4 1/8 x 5 3/8

Beautifully Penned DSP: 4 x 5 1/4 (This DSP isn't available anymore but you can substitute Perfectly Penciled)

Inside Layer Whisper White: 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 (This color was replaced with Basic White)

Blends used: Light/ Dark Old Olive (leaves) Light/Dark Highland Heather, Light/Dark Blackberry Bliss, Light/Dark Fresh Freesia

This last photo is to show what the DSP looked like before I colored it. It is still a beautiful piece without the coloring but I just wanted to have a little more color with it.
