Twelfth Day of Christmas!!

Happy Tuesday, the 12th Day of Christmas! This last project is fun and you can do so much with it. I found a styrofoam cone to use as the base to put all the dots on. I used lots of different DSPs that have Christmas designs on them. I used a 1" circle punch to get all the dots. I used double-sided tape to put a strip all the way around the cone and layered the dots in a row. I started at the bottom and worked my way up. This was my first try at this and the Stampin' Up! double-sided tape is a little thin for the texture of the cone so the circles took a lot of pressing to keep them on. I didn't curve the circles to make them wrap around the cone but I did press them on to get them to kind of wrap around. I put the designs on randomly with no clear pattern of the rows but I have seen it done with the rows with the same design. I decided that random was a fun way. Then I took glitter DSP to make a star and cover the top so you couldn't see the cone. This was fun to make and would make a cute decoration for Christmas.

Eleventh Day of Christmas!

Happy Late Monday, the 11th Day of Christmas! My second to last project for my 12 days of Christmas is a one piece of cardstock pizza box. When folded into a box it measures 3 inches by 3 inches. I used the Snowflake Magic DSP and the Sparkling Snowflakes stamp set. It is a straightforward box to cut and fold. The box is 1/2 inch deep and is good for the holiday. It is quick to put together too.

Tenth Day of Christmas!

Happy Sunday, the 10th day of Christmas! This is a fun treat project. Simple tall, square box. The top is where it gets fun, you score the rectangle into an X and then score a line in the middle on half the X. It is a little hard to explain without seeing how to make it close. This was my first attempt and the top is a little messy but I learned that the score lines for the X to make the top should be pretty deep without breaking through the paper. The colors are a little off on the photos but I used Daffodil Delight cardstock with DSP from the Merry Bold and Bright paper. This is a fun way to wrap a simple stocking stuffer or present for a coworker, friend, or even a family member.

Ninth Day of Christmas!

Happy Saturday, the 9th day of Christmas! This is a project that you can make into a fun fold card or do what I did and make it into an ornament. I saw this teepee card made as an autumn card but I saw it and thought, "This would make a great Christmas tree-type ornament". This is a base for a card scored and folded into a triangle then an extra piece scored in half, corner to corner, and glued to make the teepee shape. I put the ribbon on the inside of the base piece before I glued it together, I adhered the ribbon with 2 glue dots to keep it in place. It then makes a lovely ornament. I used Old Olive cardstock and Merry Bold and Bright DSP, the green DSP is directional so pay attention when you cut the paper.
